The class of 2013 will be hosting its second annual Snowball on Saturday January 28th.
The formal attire dance was voted Student Government Association’s best event of the 2010-2011 academic year. This year’s snowball is looking to top last year’s according to organizers.
“We are hoping to have as big of a turn out as last year or even more. Last year we had about 125 people attend, it will be a great welcome back event,” said 2013 class President Kyle Mulcahy.
The rest of the executive board of 2013 also has high hopes for the event. ”We have put in an immense amount of time, dedication, and creativity into this event so we look forward to the outcome of this years Snowball,” said 2013 class Vice President Keri Marnane.
Although dancing is the main event, there are over $1000 worth of prizes including a 32-inch television and an Xbox 360 that will be raffled out throughout the night.
One of the prizes will be given out during the “snow cup,” which is a water pong tournament. The other main event will be the Snowball King and Queen, who will be voted on this week by students in the glass foyer.
Senior Alex Terrill, who won the snowcup last year, is looking forward to regaining the championship this year. “Tyler Visgillio and I won the water pong tournament last year which made our attendance even more worth while. I can’t wait to see what they put together this year,” said Terrill.
Students are also looking forward to the event. Sophomore Nick Fulciniti, who attended last year’s Snowball, hopes the event is as successful as last year was. “From what I remember it was a great turnout and I am really looking forward to this year’s. My favorite event from last year’s was definitely the snowcup tournament,” said Fulciniti.
The event will also have free food and junior Matt Campo will be providing the DJ entertainment. Students are set to arrive at 7:00 p.m. and can get in with a proper Franklin Pierce ID.
