Newsbrief: Budgets for “Raven Egg Hunt” and Other Events Pass

On Wednesday, April 7 the Student Government Association (SGA) passed the budget for the Class of 2010 & 2012 Raven Egg Hunt for students and a few other event budgets. The Raven Egg Hunt superfund budget originally proposed for the event was reported to be $1,900 but the an amendment was made to the budget that increased the amount to $2,000. The Class of 2010 representative that addressed the SGA said that if passed the event would take place some time in April. Another budget that passed was the Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) club’s budget approved for a “Gay Pride at the Beach” event. The GSA representative who addressed the SGA said that the event would include food and music at the beach of Pearly Pond.

Also, the Class of 2012 & Resident Hall Association (RHA) Highlighter dance which also saw an amedment to raise its superfund budget from $1,000 to $2,000. According to Experience Director Michael Lynch, who addressed the SGA when the budget was brought up for approval, the dance will feature blacklights, food, highlighters, giveaways which include t-shirts.

This was the SGA’s last budget cycle for this semester. There will be one more budget cycle this taking place this but it will only pertain to clubs that wish to budget events for early next semester.
