Residential Life Senior Area Staff sponsored a hot wing eating contest in the Lakeside Educational Center on March 9, from 6-8:00 p.m.

Contestants were given a plate full of hot wings and on the count of three, they were given five minutes to eat as much wings as they could.

The winner, Taylor Metzing, was determined by student Michael T. Brown, the official counter for the night. She ate a total of 29 wings.

When asked how she felt immediately following her win Metzing said, “I feel very full right now and I’m glad that I beat all the guys because I was the only girl.”

Metzing was one of 10 contestants. Last semester there were 40 contestants.

Kristine Thayer, one of the event’s coordinators had a suggestion to why there were less people than last semester.

“Wish we had more people but its midterm’s week so everybody is studying, but the group we had here was fun.”

Later this semester the Residential Life Senior Area Staff wants to team up with Student Activities in order to produce a campus wide hot wing eating contest.

A campus wide hot wing eating contest is a brilliant idea. I went to the event last semester and had a great time. The only reason I missed this semesters was because of midterms, as Sherese mentioned.
