Two students on campus have entered their organization, Lil’ Iguana, in the Pepsi Refresh Everything Project, in the hopes of winning $250,000.
The Lil’ Iguana organization is dedicated to protecting children from harm such as child predators, abduction, and preventable injuries through safety education programs.
The program itself is a not for profit organization. Siblings sophomore Erica Tomaszewski and freshman Jim Tomaszewski, have created to better protect young children.
They run a traveling stage show to entertain while at the same time inform children of the dangers of the world. Their program is designed to be proactive instead of reactive, to better keep the children safe from harm. It features music, singing and dancing.
The reason they have entered the project is to gain exposure, and with the money they plan to expand to an international level. As of right now, they operate purely on donations so the money would be a huge boost to their potential.
Both Erica and Jim Tomaszewski are excited to see if they win the Pepsi Grant, and they are looking forward to it. The money, if won, will be split over several different things, including and interactive website, a touring vehicle and trailer, travel expenses, and numerous other side costs and projects, all to benefit and enrich young children’s lives.
“We want everyone to go to refresheverything.com and vote for our organization once a day until the competition is over,” said Erica Tomaszewski.
