Family Fun Fair in Keene Had A Good Turn Out

KEENE- A family fun fair was held at Keene Recreational center Saturday morning for the wellness of the whole family.
There was over 200 citizens that had attended the fair. It was intended to bring the local community together and to highlight local businesses that support families. This is an annual event that is hosted by Keene State University and Keene’s Recreational center. The sponsors for this event were Hannaford’s supermarket and Cheshire Medical Center. The fair was filled with nutritious food for the public, as well as informative nutrition information from Cheshire Medical center.
Leah Gruppo, Keene State University Student and Fair Coordinator was very excited for the big turn out. “The recreational center is proud to say a big thank you to all of the participants,” said Gruppo. Along with helping Gruppo, Leanne Lawrence,who is a Dietetic Intern from Keene State, said “I’ve had a lot of anticipation and it allworked out.” As a dietetic intern, Lawrence has to do 1600 hours in 10 months in the community and hospitals leaving the health fair as a part of the internship.
Besides Hannafords and Cheshire Medical Center, there were many more businesses like WIC, Early Sprouts, Cheshire Smiles that participated. For entertainment, the event hosted a dance team from the New Hampshire Dance Institute.
